Going to The Living Room? Here's What You Need to Know...

WHAT’S PLAYING AT THE LIVING ROOM?

The Living Room is an experiential and visually captivating event space by Ben Dallas Redding. It's designed to be an imaginative sanctuary for artists and performers inside The King Gallery on Howard Avenue. The experience, which runs for 13 nights, offers maximalist design and a maximalist schedule, packing a cornucopia of artistic experiences into its duration. The space is fashioned as a small apartment overrun with moss, wildflowers, and daydreams.

We've gotten a myriad of questions this week about the installation and it's programming, so we've gotten with Redding and created this post to put together all of the answers to your questions in one place.

WHERE'S THE SCHEDULE OF PROGRAMMING?

The first thing to know is that The Living Room runs Oct. 27 - Nov. 12. The most important thing to realize is that every night is different.

Nonic will be on site for several of the nights. Here's the dates their pop up bar will be there:

October 28

November 7

November 12

WHAT ARE THE POLICIES/PLANS IN PLACE FOR GUESTS?

Here's a list from Redding of the biggest things he wants you to know:

  • No one under 17 will be permitted to enter. (The Living Room is not for kids.)

  • No outside beverages and if you bring food, you’ll be asked to eat it outside. Water is permitted, but must be in a clear, see-through container. (And most of the time… we will not be selling alcohol.)

  • The Living Room is our home and we hope you treat it like it was yours. It’s also tight…so we’ll see you… (We reserve the right to remove anyone from the premises for any reason.)

  • By attending The Living Room, you assume any risk that you may encounter leaving your own living room, and cannot hold us, King Gallery, or any affiliated party responsible for any damages or injuries.

  • Seating is tight. If optimum comfort is your vibe… come early. (There are no refunds.)

HOW MANY ARTISTS ARE BEING FEATURED?

At last count, more than 55 artists will be performing over the course of 13 nights of programming.
