Midtown Columbus has a new literary gem: Columbus Bound Bookshop. Khristina Gallagher and her family have been working toward opening the store for some time, hosting pop-ups and book fairs in preparation. Now, Gallagher is thrilled to offer readers a cozy place to browse and shop for new books.

Columbus Bound Bookshop officially opened last week. After a wildly successful grand opening, the shop is now gearing up for Small Business Saturday, the annual shopping holiday between Black Friday and Cyber Monday that encourages people to support local businesses. For those looking for a thoughtful holiday gift, a new book could be the perfect choice.

To celebrate Small Business Saturday, the bookshop is partnering with Midtown Coffee House for a “Seek and Find” activity. Participants can search for tiny, book-shaped boxes hidden in both stores for a chance to win coffee-related prizes at the bookshop and bookish prizes at the coffee shop. Additionally, magnetic bookmark giveaways will be available while supplies last.

Customers can create Columbus Bound wish lists to share with family and friends for gift ideas. Parents can also bring children for an 11 a.m. storytime with Grammy Trish, Gallagher’s mother and a retired schoolteacher, while they shop the shelves.

The shop plans to offer several ongoing community programs, including two monthly book clubs and weekly children’s storytimes with Grammy Trish. The children’s section features kid-sized shelves and a cozy area for young readers to gather. Gallagher designed the space with flexibility in mind, using movable shelves to accommodate book clubs, author events, and signings. Event announcements will be shared on the store’s website and social media channels.

The bookshop offers a wide variety of genres to suit all readers. Gallagher plans to keep the selection community-driven, welcoming customer suggestions and fulfilling special orders. Beyond books, the shop carries fun items such as stationery, journals, stickers, pens, and pins—perfect for stocking stuffers. Gift cards are also available for purchase.
