An exciting collaboration for the arts in our city is on the horizon! Three local organizations are teaming up for one evening of unforgettable collaboration of music and dance in “Dreams for Change.” The concert is set to take place Sunday, February 13th at the Rainey-McCullers School of the Arts Theater at 4pm. Tickets are $20 and proceeds will benefit all three local arts organizations.

“Dreams for Change” will showcase the talents of the Youth Orchestra of Greater Columbus, Voices of the Valley Children's Chorus and The Columbus Ballet. It is an exciting opportunity to view the emerging talents of youth arts in our city, and with all organizations participating there is no better way to immerse yourself in the unique skills each group has to offer.

The event is set to be truly collaborative rather than three separate performances. The organizations will be performing pieces together such as “Swan Lake” and there will even be a grand finale involving all three organizations.

“This collaboration is such a treat for our city!! Watching these beautifully artistic kids come together and create such a wonderful event for our community is a must. The kids work so hard to strengthen their individual skills, and this event is the perfect display of what Columbus has to offer its youth. Don’t miss your opportunity to support the youth arts in Columbus!” said Bridget Adams, Artistic Director, Columbus State University Youth Dance Conservatory.

All three organizations are pivotal to the youth arts scene in our community. From a vision formed in 1993 to create an outstanding orchestra program for the area’s most talented young musicians, the Youth Orchestra of Greater Columbus provides the opportunity for over 100 young instrumentalists to have the highest quality musical experience in an orchestral setting. The Columbus Ballet works to bring the most distinctive dance experience to the community through the development of a diverse curriculum for dancers of all ages and a season program that promotes art, education and culture. Voices of the Valley is a non-profit organization that provides the children of the Chattahoochee Valley with excellent choral training and performance opportunities.

Not only do the children of these organizations develop a lifelong love of the arts, but Columbus and surrounding communities are given the opportunity to experience the wonder and joy of music and dance as shared by children. You will not want to miss this event that weaves them all together.
