Nearly four decades ago, the four original members of Blues Traveler—John Popper, Chandler Kinchla, Brendan Hill, and the late Bobby Sheehan—gathered in a basement in Princeton, New Jersey, to jam. What began as high school sessions would evolve into one of the most enduring bands in modern American rock, with 14 studio albums to their name—four gold, three platinum, and one six-times platinum—selling more than 10 million records worldwide.

Over the years, Blues Traveler has played more than 2,000 live shows for over 30 million people, building a reputation for performances that feel as alive and improvisational as the music itself. Their hit “Run-Around” became the longest-charting radio single in Billboard history and earned the band a GRAMMY® Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. More recently, the band has continued to explore and reinterpret the roots of American music with releases like Traveler’s Blues (2021), a GRAMMY®-nominated collection honoring the blues tradition, and Traveler’s Soul (2023), a reimagining of classic R&B and soul.

On May 3, that legacy arrives in Columbus, Georgia, taking the stage at RiverCenter for the Performing Arts for a night that promises both nostalgia and something entirely new.

Because if there’s one thing Blues Traveler has never been, it’s static.

Their live shows have long been defined by spontaneity—extended harmonica solos, unexpected turns, and a sense that the music is unfolding in real time, shaped as much by the audience as by the band itself. It’s a conversation, not a script. And in a venue like the RiverCenter, where the distance between artist and audience feels almost nonexistent, that kind of energy resonates deeply.

In Columbus, we understand the power of a night like this.

We know that live music isn’t just entertainment—it’s connection. It’s a shared rhythm that pulls strangers into the same moment, if only for a few hours. It’s the reason we gather, the reason we listen, the reason we keep showing up for the arts in all the ways that matter.

So when Blues Traveler takes the stage on May 3, it’s more than a concert—it’s an invitation.

To remember. To rediscover. To experience a band that has spent decades refining not just their sound, but the way they bring people together through it.

Find your seat. Settle in. And let the music carry you somewhere only a live performance can.
