The Springer Opera House will close its 2024-25 season with Beautiful: The Carole King Musical . Performances run April 26 - May 12 in Springer's historic Emily Woodruff Hall.
Beautiful tells the story of Carole King, one of the most accomplished recording artists of the 20th Century. For decades, more than a thousand artists across the globe have performed King's music, which boasts a musical library exceeding four hundred compositions. Her songs have hit number one 118 times on U.S. Billboard, and in England, King's had the top song more than 60 times. The prolific number of recordings she's produced combined with her lasting popularity have led King to become the voice of a generation, and the subject of a Broadway award-winning musical.
Beautiful follows the remarkable journey of Carole King, from her humble beginnings as a Brooklyn teenager to becoming one of the most iconic singer-songwriters of all time. Featuring beloved and well-known hits such as "You've Got a Friend," "Natural Woman," "It's Too Late," and "I Feel the Earth Move." "Beautiful" celebrates Carole King's extraordinary music while shining a spotlight on her resilience, determination, and incredible talent.
The musical won two Tony Awards in 2014 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical and Best Sound Design of a Musical. This was on top of five other nominations the musical received that year.
