5 Things We'd Share Over Coffee With You This Week If We Could

Go behind-the-scenes into the "creative diets" of our staff. Each week, we'll share a list of five things that grabbed our attention or inspired us creatively.

ONE: THIS BOOK

Several of us on staff have this book, and we've found ourselves returning to it over and over again. In the Company of Women is a collection of inspiration and advice from 100 Makers, Artists, and Entrepreneurs from all over the world. Trust us, you'll love it whether you're a creative entrepreneur or not.

TWO: The Magic of a French 75

If you run into us at a staff gathering, there's a high probability at least one French 75 will have been ordered. Never had one? Start with this recipe and customize it with the fruit or infused simple syrup of your choice. Bon Appétit's recipe uses lemon, but lately we've preferred a holiday version made with sugar-free cran-raspberry juice. It's light, festive, and served in these coupe glasses? It's sure to be the perfect cocktail for a cozy New Year's Eve at home with loved ones. To make, follow the Bon Appétit recipe and then add a splash of your favorite juice or get really fancy and make an infused simple syrup like this.

THREE: THIS GOOD NEWS FROM THE COLUMBUS MUSEUM

Over the holidays, Black Art in America gifted The Columbus Museum with 15 pieces of art to their permanent collection. Read more about this great addition to our local museum here!

FOUR: EVERYTHING ABOUT OUR NEW HOMETOWN BASEBALL TEAM, 'THE HOOTS'

You heard us. ColumbusGA is getting a baseball team! The Chatt-a-Hoots, or The Hoots as they've already been nicknamed, will play their opening season in Summer of '21.

Lots of information about the new team has been released over the holidays including the first players to sign, who they've secured as their partners (we're talking local breweries and an Italian fast food joint we're not sad about seeing listed), and when we can expect to hear, "Play ball!" Check out their new website for more information.

FIVE: THIS UPCOMING LOCAL CONCERT FEATURING LOS COAST

The Columbus Botanical Garden's *Nanikipooh Concert Series is back on January 2nd with an Outdoor Concert Featuring Los Coast. Find more information and secure tickets here.
