5 Things... with Jenna Klein

This series takes you behind-the-scenes into the "creative diets" of our staff. Each week, one of us will share a list of five things that grabbed our attention or inspired us creatively that week.

This week's list is from our Social Media Intern, Jenna Klein. These are the things Jenna would share with you over coffee this week if she could. (We're ordering number 5 today!)

ONE - Armchair Expert

Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast has been a favorite of mine for awhile, but I find myself listening in more lately as while I’m home doing online classes, taking walks around the neighborhood, or joy rides around town. Shepard interviews different celebrities and experts on a variety of topics. It’s always interesting to hear their stories, how they reached their success, and different perspectives on current issues. I suggest checking out Sanjay Gupta’s episode on COVID-19, and my personal favorite, his interviews with his wife Kristen Bell.

TWO - We're Not Really Strangers

We’re Not Really Strangers is a card game designed to bring people together. From strangers to best friends, there’s something anyone can learn from this game. I live with four of my best friends, and playing this game during quarantine was an interesting exercise in listening to one another in ways we hadn’t stopped to listen to each other before. I highly recommend it for a date night, a social-distancing dinner with friends, or even a video call with family.

THREE - Sylus Goodwin

Supporting the arts from home can seem difficult, but Sylus Goodwin has been showing his love for Springer Academy by wearing his Academy shirts everyday this summer. As someone who is incredibly passionate about theatre education, it warms my heart to see it’s impact despite the circumstances. Let’s hear it for Sylus!

FOUR - You Are A Badass

You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero has been a game changer for me. Being stuck at home can make you feel stagnant. This book reminds me of the power we all have, even in those stagnant moments, to create the life we want.

FIVE - Busy Ladies Living Their Best Lives

School is about to start again, and even though this semester will be all online, staying on track is more important than ever. This Libby Vander Ploeg wall calendar titled “Busy Ladies Living Their Best Lives” is from Target and I love the artwork for each month. Some fun pens, a few highlighters, and my stationery dreams are all coming true.
