National Arts and Humanities Month

Columbus, Georgia | October 2019

          or the first time, Columbus, Georgia is participating in National Arts and Humanities Month this October. As a method of promoting community engagement, our team at The Columbusite will be dedicating our content to encouraging locals and visitors to join us in participating in NAHM through attending performances, art exhibit openings, children's events, and festivals all month long.

Our plan is to throw everything we've got into encouraging as much community participation as possible. The goal? Increased engagement, growth in ticket sales, and a positive local economic impact.

About NAHM

"The coast-to-coast collective recognition of the importance of culture in America, National Arts and Humanities Month was launched by Americans for the Arts more than 30 years ago as National Arts Week in honor of the twentieth anniversary of the National Endowment for the Arts. In 1993, it was reestablished by Americans for the Arts and national arts partners as a month-long celebration, with goals of:

FOCUSING on the arts at local, state, and national levels;

ENCOURAGING individuals and organizations to participate in the arts;

ALLOWING governments and businesses to show their support of the arts; and

RAISING public awareness about the role the arts and humanities play in our communities and lives."
